Government of Flanders Master Mind Scholarships 2025 For International Students:

The Flanders government in Brussels awards scholarships to deserving individuals pursuing master’s degrees in Flanders. The programme seeks to establish Brussels and Flanders as premier study destinations.

Financial Benefits:

Recipients of the Government of Flanders Master Mind Scholarships are given the following benefits:

  • A Master Mind Scholarship entitles the recipient to a prize of €8,200 plus the waiver of tuition for one academic year (60 ECTS).
  • Holders of the Master Mind Scholarship just have to pay an enrolment fee. The stipend, which is given in instalments, pays for a sizeable portion of their living expenditures as well as their insurance premiums and lodging fees.

Eligibility Criteria:

In order to be qualified for a Government of Flanders Master Mind Scholarship, you have to meet the requirements listed below:

Language Requirements:

  • The pupil speaks and understands English well:
    • a minimum TOEFL score of 94; an overall band score of at least 7.0 on the IELTS exam;
    • a score of C1 on the Common European Framework of Reference.
    • a comparable outcome on another official language exam that the host institution has approved.
  • When a student applies to a School of Arts Master’s programme, they must have at least;
    • a minimum TOEFL total score of 90, an IELTS overall band score of at least 6.5.
    • a Common European Framework of Reference level of B2.
    • a comparable score on another certified English language test (accepted by the host institution).

All nations across the world are eligible:

  • The candidate submits an application to enrol in a Master’s programme at a Flanders-based university (referred to as the “Host institution”).
  • The candidate ought to demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and/or potential. The pupil’s GPA is 3.5 out of a possible 4.0:

    The student’s file is also subjected to an academic review by the host school. To be eligible to earn the scholarship, the student must be accepted by the host university. This requirement is applicable even if the Host school decides to accept the student after the Master Mind Scholarships programme is chosen.
  • Any nationality may submit an application. The prior degree must have come from an outside of Flanders higher education institution. A Master Mind Scholarship is still available to foreign students who have been enrolled in credit mobility at a Flemish higher education institution that is hosting them.
  • Applications from current Flemish higher education students are not accepted. The only exception is for overseas applicants who are enrolled in a specific preparation programme in order to begin a master’s programme in September 2023 at the time of application in the spring of 2024.

Application Process:

For Master Mind Scholarship applications, kindly adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Verify whether the Flemish institution of your choice accepts applications for the Master Mind Scholarships and whether you are eligible to apply. The candidate sends the application to the organisation hosting it. The Host institution’s internal deadlines may vary (see section 6. Timing).
  • The Host institution accepts the application of the candidate.
  • The application process for the Master Mind scholarship is initiated by the host institution through the creation of the candidate’s application file within the Mobility-Online tool.
  • The applicant receives an email generated by the Mobility-Online tool notifying him/her of being pre selected for a Master Mind scholarship.
  • Before the deadline of midnight on April 30, 2021 GMT+1, the host institution verifies and submits the completed application file using the Mobility Online service. Applications that are verified and submitted after 30 April 2021 GMT+1 at midnight will not be accepted.
