Climate Adaptation Innovation Accelerator Programme 2024:

As part of the Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) cooperation, the WFP Innovation Accelerator launched the Climate Adaptation Innovation Accelerator Programme with funding from the Adaptation Fund.
Through the Climate Adaption Innovation Accelerator Programme, the WFP Innovation Accelerator and the adaption Fund are collaborating to improve climate adaption and gender equity. This promote inclusive economic opportunities, engage youth, and bolster community resilience.

The program’s goals are to provide long-term alternatives to vulnerable populations, raise knowledge of climate adaptation, and enhance regional, national, and international cooperation.

By doing this, it will support the Sustainable Development Goals and help communities everywhere have a more resilient future.  Additionally It accomplishes this by supporting creative solutions to the climate.

To address specific challenges related to climate adaptation along the food system value chain in Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon. Finding both low-tech and high-tech solutions is what the WFP Innovation Accelerator looks for.  Also apply for Asia Foundation Development Fellowship 2025 in Cambodia and United States (Fully Funded).

Financial Benefits:

  • Depending on the calibre of their offering, eight to ten businesses who are approved for the sprint programme will be able to compete for equity-free funding prizes totaling more than US$ 1 million.
  • A maximum of $120,000 USD is allowed per venture for seed-stage solutions.
  • One venture may receive up to US$ 200,000 for solutions during the growth and expansion phases.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Your organisation (for-profit, not-for-profit, social enterprise, NGO, INGO) needs to be a recognised legal entity.
  • One of the three implementation countries—Lebanon, Jordan, or Egypt—should already be home to your organisation, or it should be eager to establish one. This could be in the form of partnerships, long-term operations, subsidiaries, national offices, or other permanent presence.
  • At least one of the aforementioned key categories pertaining to urgent difficulties encountered in the nation of implementation’s climate adaption space is addressed by your innovation.
  • You have to have at least seed stage innovation. We do not accept research proposals, ideas, or early pre-seed solutions.
  • During the six-month Sprint Programme, your idea must have a recommended execution plan that will be financed by the money allotted, a clear path to growth, and an abundance of resources.
    It is anticipated that candidates will be driven to work with pertinent humanitarian organisations, establish connections with government offices, and take part in cutting-edge ecosystems.

  • Please complete the application by August 4, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (CEST) in order to submit it. Note that contributions must be submitted in English in order to be considered.
  • In September, we will evaluate and choose 8–10 qualified applicants. Please be aware that enrollment in the bootcamp does not ensure financial assistance. Only those candidates that pass an extra assessment round will get equity-free cash for their bootcamp teams.
