EPFL Excellence Fellowships 2024/2025 For International Students:

EPFL provides a limited number of Master’s-level fellowships to students with strong academic records. They directly funds some fellowships, while others are funded through agreements with charities or companies.

The Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne is Europe’s most cosmopolitan technical institution, with students, professors, and staff from more than 120 countries. EPFL is a vibrant environment that welcomes students from Switzerland and around the world. Its three purposes are teaching, research, and technology transfer.

EPFL collaborates with a wide range of partners, including other universities and institutes of technology, secondary schools and colleges, business and economy, political circles, and the general public, to make a genuine difference for society. Deadline For Application:

The deadline for Application to apply for EPFL Fellowship is April 15 or December 15 (annual).

Financial Benefits:

EPFL Excellence Fellowship awardees receive the following benefits:

  • CHF10,000 each semester
  • Reserving a student room at a student residence
  • A certificate of excellence (at the conclusion of the master’s programme)
  • Fellows will be responsible for covering all expenses (including rent).

The fellowship will be paid for a maximum of four semesters (3 semesters for a 90-credit master’s programme), providing the fellowship recipient is registered as a regular EPFL student (see section 4.6). No extension is conceivable, even if the student decides to take a minor or for any other reason that may lengthen the term of studies.

Documents Required:

  • A resume.
  • Your academic credential (s) or Bachelor (s) degree (s). If you do not yet have your diploma, you must immediately submit it to the Academic Service upon your arrival.
  • Please submit all of your certified university graduation reports.
  • A cover letter should be no more than 1000 words long. Please describe your academic background and job goals.
  • The contact information for three academic referees, each of whom must provide a letter of recommendation for you (except for candidates already enrolled in another Swiss Federal Institute of Technology or University who apply for a Master’s degree in the same field of study as their Bachelor’s).
  • Three referees Letters of recommendation should be written by teachers who are familiar with your work and potential. These recommendations are strictly secret and will not be accepted unless generated via the electronic application.
  • Your identification card or passport.
  • Your residency permit is required if you are a foreign resident in Switzerland.

Eligibility Criteria:

EPFL Excellence Fellowship awardees receive the following benefits:

  • English is the required language.
  • All nations on the planet are eligible.
  • Anyone with a bachelor’s degree from a university (or equivalent) in a field linked to EPFL curricula is eligible to apply to one of the EPFL Masters Programmes. (Candidates who already have a Master’s degree or equivalent in the field (or related field) of the programme for which they wish to apply are ineligible).
    The applicants should have excellent academic records and references.
