Financial Benefits:
- ETH Pioneer Fellowship 2025 in Switzerland | The ETH Pioneer Fellowship Program will cover all expenses for selected individuals. Successful applicants will receive a flat sum of 150,000 CHF to cover their salary and any project-related expenses. - All expense receipts must be provided to the Finance Department to justify your expenses.
Tuition fees for the Certificate of Advanced Studies:
- A direct grant from CAS ETH can cover the CHF 9,200 tuition charge for a single candidate in Entrepreneurial Leadership in Technology Ventures (CAS ELTV), if enrolment is necessary.
- Enrolling a second candidate is optional if a team of two applies. If students decide to apply, ieLab will cover 50% of the tuition.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must hold a master’s or doctorate degree from ETH Zurich.
- A group of 1-2 entrepreneurs who wish to commercialise the findings of their master’s, doctoral, or postdoctoral research at ETH.
- A promising business case.
- A project in which the company does not currently participate.
- The host professor at ETH fully supports the project and its team.
Application Materials:
The candidate must write the application and include a letter of support from his or her host professor. The host professor must maintain an ETH position for the term of the proposed Pioneer Fellowship and provide the professorship’s assistance and infrastructure for free.
The application will include the following:
- A brief project synopsis that covers the planned activities, market environment, and innovation potential. This summary should not include private information.
- A detailed exposition of the concept based on the findings of a master’s or doctoral thesis at ETH Zurich. The emphasis is on creative features of efficiency and consumer benefits, whether in product or service. This comprises some evidence of market relevance, a basic business model with preliminary information on a commercialisation strategy, including technical and market research.
