Applications for the Hurford Youth Fellowship Programme in the United States are being accepted through March 2025. The Hurford Youth Leadership Exchange Programme for 2025–2026 is now accepting applications in the United States. Hurford is a youth exchange programme that aims to develop youth activists by strengthening leadership skills in participants from all around the world.
Building leadership skills is the goal of the Hurford Youth Leadership Exchange Programme. Hurford Youth Fellows will participate in information sharing, research, presentation organisation and leadership, and strategy meetings. The maximum age of participants should be thirty years old. Hurford will pay all of the selected participants’ expenses.
The participants will spend three months living in Washington, D.C. The Hurford Youth Fellowship will begin on March 1st, 2025, and run through May 31st, 2025. Financial Benefits:
This fully funded international youth exchange programme is called the Hurford Youth Fellowship Programme 2024. The fellowship will pay for all program-related expenses, including:
- Allowance for Living Expenses Each Month.
- Round-trip airfare for health insurance and air travel to and from Washington, D.C.
- A fully furnished office with Internet and email access, as well as a limited budget for long-distance phone calls related to the fellowship, are given to fellows.
Note: Fellowship stipends are not intended to support a family’s whole living expenditures; applicants should be aware of the high cost of living (housing, furniture, food, and other necessities) in the Washington metropolitan region. Fellows who choose to travel to Washington, D.C. with family members will be responsible for paying for their dependents’ round-trip airfare and lodging while in the country. Typically, the programme does not pay for the expenses related to dependents’ health insurance. It should be noted that all dependents entering the United States on a J-2 dependent visa must have minimum health insurance for the duration of their visit.

- Individual Data Project Concept
- The most crucial component of your fellowship application is your project proposal. It should be understandable to people who are not experts in your profession or area of focus and should be succinct and straightforward.
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Your educational history, extracurricular activities, community service, and/or relevant work experience should all be highlighted in your curriculum vitae or CV.
- Two recommendation letters.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Please take note that applicants with any nationality from any country are eligible.
- The Hurford Youth Fellows Programme is open to applicants who are no older than thirty. Suggested qualifications include a strong interest in Democratic activism and the growth of democracy locally and globally. We especially encourage young people who are involved with civil society organisations to apply.
- For the purpose of general communication, proficiency in English is a necessary qualification for participation in the programme.
