The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship (VCIS) is offered to international students who succeed academically. This is a very competitive scholarship based on academic merit that is granted to excellent students planning to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s coursework degree at Macquarie University. Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Macquarie University Scholarship, you must satisfy the following requirements:
- Students who have previously obtained a Macquarie University scholarship will not be eligible for this one.
- You are not eligible if you have applied to or are currently enrolled at Macquarie University International College.
- You are ineligible if you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency in Australia.
- If you withdraw from your programme before completion, you may be compelled to repay any scholarships that were awarded to you during your time at Macquarie University, depending on the decision determined by the scholarships and awards committee.
- Achieve a minimum WAM equivalent of 65 for Postgraduate applications and an ATAR equivalent of 85 for Undergraduate applications.
- Accepted into a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree starting in 2024 or 2025.
- Enrol and begin your study in accordance with the terms of your offer letter. Deferral of commencement is not permitted.
- Maintain a full-time study load of 8 standard units every academic year.
- Follow the University’s academic advancement policy.
- This grant is only for on-campus study.
- English is the required language.

Application Process:
To apply for a Melbourne Macquarie University International Scholarship, please complete these steps:
- Applicants must fill out an online course application. Once your course application has been finalised, you will be issued a Macquarie University Student Number, which is required to complete the online scholarship application form.
- Applicants must fill out an online scholarship application and include “VCIS” in the Scholarship Name area.
