Eligibility Criteria:
The Bill Sanderson Scholarship for Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMTs)
- Needs to be a VAI member.
- Presently preparing to graduate from an FAA-approved Part 147 aircraft maintenance technician school, or a foreign equivalent; or recently awarded an airframe and powerplant (A&P) certificate (during the last two years).
Scholarship for Commercial Helicopter Pilot Rating
- Needs to be a VAI member.
- Possess a private helicopter operator’s licence.
- Must be enrolled in a Part 141 school authorised by the FAA or a foreign equivalent, offering a commercial helicopter rating curriculum.
- Must possess a medical certificate that is at least second-class or internationally comparable.
- Within a year after the award date, the training must be finished and the commercial helicopter rating obtained.
Scholarship for Maintenance Technician Certification
- Needs to be a HAI member.
- Must be enrolled in a Part 147 school authorised by the FAA or an international equivalent, offering a certificate program for maintenance technicians.
- Within a year after the award date, the maintenance technician certificate and the training must be completed.
The Safety Michelle North Scholarship
- Needs to be a HAI member.
- Must possess a pilot rating for commercial helicopters.
- Must exhibit exceptional aptitude for safe flying and following aviation regulations.
Pilot Rating Scholarship for Commercial Helicopters by WINCO
- Needs to be a VAI member.
- Possess a private helicopter operator’s licence.
