It is intended to aid academic and professional development by providing assistance with International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) level 6 bachelor’s degrees or comparable qualifications. The program also offers short-cycle tertiary education at ISCED level 5, which includes approved Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs that lead to a certificate or diploma. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be recognised as refugees or asylum seekers resident in Rwanda.
  • Candidates who have excelled academically will be given priority.
  • Applicants must be admitted to a Rwandan university and provide proof of acceptance.
  • To ensure equitable distribution, only one family member per household may apply for or receive the DAFI scholarship.
  • Applicants who are currently receiving other types of higher education scholarships are ineligible.
  • Individuals who have been confirmed for relocation to a third country are ineligible.
Secondary criteria:
  • Female applicants and individuals with support needs are especially encouraged to apply.

Application Process:

Applications for the DAFI Scholarship Programme are open from August 27, 2024 until September 15, 2024. Interested students may submit their applications online using the DAFI Programme Management Platform. The application process requires numerous crucial documents, including:

  • UNHCR Proof of Registration.
  • An official or certified copy of your high school diploma.
  • A letter of admission or proof of acceptance from a university in Rwanda
  • An equivalence certificate from the Ministry of Education is optional.
