University of Carlo Cattaneo PhD Scholarships 2024-2025 For International Students:
In accordance with the terms of Ministerial Decree no. 630 of 24 April 2024, which is financed by the PNRR (Mission 4, component 2, investment 3.3 – Introduction of innovative doctoral programmes that meet the innovation needs of companies and promote companies’ recruitment of researchers), University Carlo Cattaneo is inviting Italian and non-Italian students to apply for three-year PhD Scholarships. There are five available positions to participate in the PhD Programme in Management, Finance, and Accounting in accordance for the 2024–2025 academic year.
The scholarship’s main objective is to equip students with the skills necessary to interpret business phenomena holistically. These skills will be useful not only in academic research but also in careers with multinational corporations, financial institutions, and public and private organisations. It blends methods from business economics and management engineering, providing special abilities because of the backing of carefully chosen partner businesses to delve deeper into particular research areas. The designation “Doctor of Research in Management, Finance, and Accounting” attests to a person’s demonstrated capacity for:

Financial Benefits:
The scholarship now awards €20,400.00 per year, less the recipient’s share of social security and health insurance premiums. There will be more funding available for the overseas research projects.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates with the following qualifications are invited to apply: Laurea Magistrale, equivalent foreign academic degree (Master of Arts, Master of Sciences) with a minimum grade of 95/110, or equivalent foreign qualification with a minimum grade of 86/100, or who anticipate obtaining such a qualification by October 31, 2024:
- Public administrations, public communication
- industrial engineering, economics, management finance, and ecology and culture economics
- Applications from individuals whose degrees are not in the above fields but whose training and work experience show that they are knowledgeable about the program’s contents will be taken into consideration and evaluated by the admissions panel.

1. Entrance Requirement:
- Applications are open to anybody with a Master’s degree in any of the following fields: industrial engineering, economics, management, finance, public administration, public communication, and economics for the environment and culture. The candidate’s final score is calculated as follows:
- up to a ten-point maximum.
- a maximum of fifteen points.
- up to a twenty point maximum.
- If applicants receive a score of at least 30 out of 45 points, they will be considered for admission to the programme.
- possessing a minimum of 7 and a minimum of 10 points.

2. Test Requirement
- SAT, GRE or GMAT is required.
3. English Language Requirement
- Score on TOEFLS or IELTS Is Needed.
- English proficiency is necessary. It may also be evaluated orally during the examination. The oral exam will take place online using MsTeams, or on campus at the university.
Selection Criteria:
The following three factors are used to choose candidates in addition to their documented qualifications:
- Having the essential skills and understanding of the subjects covered in the programme.
- The ability to conduct scientific research, the consistency of the scientific background with the primary themes of the PhD programme, and the novelty and rigour of the research proposal that was presented
- Proficiency in analysing and interpreting quantitatively stated phenomena in the domains of engineering, management, finance, and economics, in addition to the language skills required to economically engage in PhD Programme activities.
