University of Sydney Australian Government RTP Scholarships For International Students:
International students can apply for the Australian Government’s RTP Scholarships at the University of Sydney for 2024–2025. Postgraduate level programmes in the subject of All Subjects offered at the University of Sydney are eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship application deadline is December 17, 2024. Financial Benefits:
- Financial Assistance: For full-time students, the RTP offers an annual stipend of $32,192 (2024 rate) to help with living expenses. Under certain conditions, students enrolled part-time may also qualify for a prorated stipend.
- Coverage of Tuition Fees: You won’t have to pay for your HDR program’s tuition up front because the RTP Scholarship will offset it.
- International students who qualify for the RTP International Scholarship are particularly covered by international health insurance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Beginning or Continuing Your Studies: International students who are enrolled in or are just starting their postgraduate research programme are eligible for this grant. Beginning students are those who have already begun their programme.
- Academic Prowess and Research Potential: To be considered, you must exhibit both a solid academic foundation and a distinct potential for research achievement. Having a track record of stellar grades and, more importantly, publications in your field of study are common indicators of this.
- Admission to the University of Sydney: To be considered for admission to the Master’s by Research or PhD programmes at the University of Sydney, you must either be now enrolled in one of these programmes or have previously received an unconditional acceptance letter (unconditional offer of admission).
Application Process:
Upon submitting your application for the programme, you will automatically be eligible to be considered for the RTP scholarship. Simply tick the box indicating your desire to be taken into consideration. To be eligible for the next round of scholarships, make sure your programme application is submitted by the dates listed below:
- To begin in Research Periods 1 or 2, January or March, submit an application by September of the preceding year.
- In order to begin in July or October (Research Period 3 or 4): submit an application by December of the year prior.
Already enrolled in Sydney University’s Master of Science by Research or Doctorate programme?
- It is still possible for you to apply for the RTP scholarship, but you will have to do it separately. Note: To have your application reviewed again, you must demonstrate that your academic record or research accomplishments have improved since your previous submission.
Note:
- There are strict deadlines. You will be given consideration for the subsequent scholarship round if you miss them.
- You must submit the necessary paperwork for both your programme application and your RTP scholarship application (including, if relevant, proof of research experience).
- RTP scholarships are given out based on academic merit and aptitude for research, and they are very competitive.
