  • International candidates: complete your doctorate prior to the start date. Canadian citizens and permanent residents: complete your PhD within six months of beginning work.
  • There isn’t a postdoctoral fellowship that runs concurrently with the Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science fellowship. To accept the honour, one must step down from their present postdoctoral fellowship.
  • A degree in one of the natural sciences or engineering (NSE) disciplines, such as computer science or mathematics, is required of candidates. Details regarding NSE disciplines can be found in the NSERC Research Subject Codes.
  • Seeking funding or status-only work for a full-time job at the University of Toronto. If the primary supervisor lacks experience in AI, they must have a co-supervisor with such knowledge.
