Worldwide, women make up roughly 25% of the workforce in the aerospace industry. As part of its mission to guarantee that women have equal access to all resources and are represented in positions of decision-making on a par with men, Zonta International offers the Amelia Earhart Fellowship.
The Amelia Earhart Fellowship was established in her honour in 1938. Famous pilot Amelia Earhart was also a Zontian. The US$10,000 Fellowship is offered each year to up to 30 women who are pursuing PhD or postdoctoral degrees in aerospace engineering and space sciences. It may be used by any college or university that provides reputable post-graduate courses and degrees in these fields.
