MKPATABASI Houston Chapter Special Education Grant Award Program
The MKPATABASI Houston Chapter invites students from Ikot Abasi and Mkpat Enin Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, who are enrolled in tertiary institutions across the country to participate in its Special Education Grant Award program. This initiative aims to provide eligible students with a one-time Education Grant to support their academic endeavors.
Grant Availability
The grant is limited in quantity and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Qualified applicants from Ikot Abasi or Mkpat Enin LGAs are required to complete and submit the application form to the MKPATABASI Houston Chapter Special Education Grant Award Committee, the designated awarding authority, no later than June 30th, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
- Residency: Applicants must be indigenes of either Ikot Abasi LGA or Mkpat Enin LGA of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
- Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled in a college, polytechnic, or university (higher institution) during the 2023/2024 academic year.
- Active Registration: Students must be registered in the school and in the semester for which the award is given.
- Financial Need: All applicants must demonstrate financial need and qualify as needy or poor students.
- Academic Performance: Applicants must provide evidence (transcript) of having written at least one semester examination and passed with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Submission of Completed Application Form
- The application form must be completed by the applicant and authenticated (stamped) by the Department Head of the Program of Studies the applicant is enrolled in.
- All submitted application forms must be accompanied by a valid transcript.
- Application forms and supporting documents must be uploaded in PDF format.
- Applicants are responsible for uploading their documents.
Scholarship Closing Deadline
The deadline for the submission of completed scholarship application forms is June 30th, 2024.
