Scholarship Duration:

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following conditions when applying online for the Central South University Scholarship in China:

  • Excellent non-Chinese citizens with clean criminal records and good health.
  • Applicants for a Bachelor’s degree must have a high school diploma or its equivalent and be between the ages of 18 and 25. For a Master’s degree, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and be between the ages of 18 and 35. For a Doctor’s degree, applicants must have a master’s degree or its equivalent and be between the ages of 18 and 40.
  • Language eligibility: Students applying for Chinese-taught programmes must have a minimum HSK4 score of 260 for non-medical programmes and 200 for medical programmes; students applying for English-taught programmes must have a minimum IELTS score of 6 or an 85 on the TOFEL. Students who do not fulfil the requirement for Chinese competency must complete a one-year preparation course in Chinese and pass all applicable exams before beginning their programmes. Those who meet one of the following conditions are exempt from demonstrating their linguistic competency.
  • Applicants to postgraduate programmes must have a solid academic background and innovative research talents.
  • Some programmes have their own admissions requirements, and applicants must be qualified before applying. For more information, read the 2024 Programme Catalogue.

 

Documents Required:

  • Printed application form retrieved from the CSU China International Student Service System, with applicants’ names signed.
  • Photocopy of the passport (more than one year availability)
  • Photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Check. Applicants must be strictly examined in line with the requirements of the Foreigners Physical Examination Sheet. Incomplete forms are regarded as invalid. The exam date will be after October 1, 2023.
  • Photocopy of the highest graduation certificate (or a notarized copy). If the candidate is a current student, a school-issued pre-graduation certificate is necessary.
  • Transcript of the highest diploma (or notarized copy)
  • Non-criminal record with official stamp. The issuance date will be after October 1, 2023.
  • Provide a transcript of HSK4 for Chinese-taught programmes, IELTS/TOEFL for English-taught programmes, or other documents to demonstrate your linguistic competency.
  • A photocopy of a remittance bill for the application fee of RMB 500 (USD 90).
  • Personal statement indicating that the student does not receive any other financial aid from other institutions.
  • Two letters of recommendation from professors/associate professors with detailed contact information (Issuance date after October 1, 2023, exclusively for master’s and PhD)
  • Study Plan of at least 800 words (clarify your study background, method, substance, and significance, only for master’s and doctoral)
  • Acceptance letter from CSU instructors (only for master’s and doctoral)
  • Published essays and other supplementary materials.

Application Process:

There is an online application portal in China where you can apply for the Central South University Scholarship 2024-25. Follow the instructions below to apply. Also, the Official Advertisement Link is given below for Details:

Step 1: Online application:

Access the CSU China International Student Service System and register online at https://intl.csu.edu.cn/index.htm. Choose the Central South University Scholarship for International Students (CSU Scholarship), complete the application form, submit it, and wait for the results (2-4 weeks).

Step 2: Pay the application fee and mail hard copies of the materials.

After passing the online review, pay the application cost of 500 RMB (90 dollars) to the allocated account and prepare the above documents with physical copies of materials in duplicate in the order specified. Incomplete submissions will not be accepted. (If you fail the initial review or are rejected, there is no need to pay the application cost or deliver hard copies.)
