Emile Boutmy Scholarship 2025 For International Students:
The Emile Boutmy Scholarship for 2025–2026 has complete funding. Science Po in France is offering this scholarship. International applicants are welcome from anywhere in the globe. This award is applicable to doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate programmes. The Emile Boutmy Scholarship offers up to €19,000 annually.
The three-year curriculum of Sciences Po Undergraduate programmes is based on the social sciences. Accepting applicants who hold a Baccalauréat (or its equivalent in another language), these programmes result in a Bachelor’s degree. Graduate programmes at Sciences Po provide two-year programmes that lead to a Master’s degree with a variety of professional specialisations. The following advantages will come with the Emile Boutmy Scholarship:
Undergraduate:
Students enrolled in Sciences Po’s first year of study are given the Emile Boutmy scholarship.
There are multiple ways to implement the Emile Boutmy programme:
- A grant of €7,300 each year for tuition over the three years of the undergraduate programme, plus an additional
- €5,000 per year to help with living expenses.
- A €7,300 annual tuition grant for the three years of the undergraduate degree.
- A three-year, €5,000 annual tuition assistance for the undergraduate programme.
- A three-year, €3,000 annual tuition assistance for the undergraduate programme.
A scholarship worth 19,000 euros may be awarded in exceptional cases to pay the cost of the three years of college. The several entrance juries determine the scholarship amounts.
In the event that your academic year is not verified, your scholarship will be forfeited.
Should you be awarded a scholarship and choose to postpone your enrollment, your scholarship will be forfeited.
Recipients of scholarships will keep their additional cost of living award (if any) and tuition fee grant during the year abroad (third year of the undergraduate degree).
Masters:
Students who are enrolling at Sciences Po for their first year of study are given the Emile Boutmy scholarship. There are two variations of the Emile Boutmy programme:
- A scholarship worth €10,000 annually to pay for the two years of the Masters program’s tuition
- A two-year Masters tuition scholarship worth €5,000 per year.
In the event that your academic year is not verified, your scholarship will be forfeited. Should you receive a scholarship and choose to postpone your admission, the scholarship will be forfeited.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Emile Boutmy Scholarship, the applicant needs to meet each of the requirements listed below:
- English is the required language.
- All nations across the world are eligible.
The following students are not eligible:
- Applicants from Switzerland and Norway, since they might be eligible for CROUS scholarships.
- Applicants with multiple citizenships, including citizenship in the EU.
- Quebec candidates for master’s degree (because they are eligible to benefit from sliding scale fees in the same way as applicants from Europe).
- Quebec residents who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree are able to apply for master’s level dual degrees. The only dual degrees that accept applications are the following ones:
- the combined journalism degree Sciences Po/University of Columbia.
- the combined degree in global affairs from Sciences Po/Fudan University with a focus on Europe-Asia (available only to Chinese nationals).
- the Sciences Po/Peking University dual degree programme (open to only Chinese nationals).
- Students in the Ph.D. programme (thesis).
- Applicants for the one-year Master’s degrees.
- Candidates for a bachelor’s dual degree (unless as part of a special arrangement)
- Students on exchange.
- Applicants using the graduate admissions process in French.
- Applications for both the Emile Boutmy Simple Scholarship and the joint scholarship with CSC are not accepted from candidates.
- Unless the jury determines otherwise, the Emile Boutmy scholarship cannot be coupled with any other scholarship (such as the BGF, AEFE, or Eiffel scholarships).
- This scholarship is given out based on merit and the kind of applicant that this programme is looking for. Social criteria are also considered.
- Candidates must specifically state in their online bachelor’s or master’s application form that they intend to apply directly for this scholarship, as it is not given out automatically.
Application Process:
Kindly adhere to the below guidelines for applying to this scholarship:
- Students applying at Sciences Po must specify in the “Financial information” portion of their application that they are applying for the Emile Boutmy scholarship.
- Note that we may need applicants to submit evidence of income and documentation outlining their family circumstances (such as both parents’ income tax returns, paystubs, divorce decree, certificate of unemployment, paperwork pertaining to child support, alimony, or retirement pensions, death certificate, etc.).
- Before the scholarship application deadline, applicants must additionally attach, if applicable, the results of their language exam.
- Scholarships for Emile Boutmy must be awarded by the Admissions Office. Please be aware that your scholarship application won’t be considered unless you are accepted into one of our programmes.
