The Horatio Alger National Scholarship Programme is one of the biggest college financial assistance initiatives in the country, which focuses on helping high school students who have faced and overcome significant challenges in their early lives. Eligibility Criteria:
The following criteria must be met in order for the candidate to be eligible for the Horatio Alger Scholarship:
- English is the required language.
- States That Qualify:
- Be enrolled full-time as a senior in a US high school; be making good progress towards graduation in the spring or summer of 2020; and have intentions to enrol in an American college by the fall of the year after graduation.
- Demonstrate a resolute dedication to pursuing and finishing a bachelor’s degree at a US non-profit public or private university (students may begin at a two-year institution before transferring to a four-year institution).
- Show that you are in dire need of money ($55,000 or less in adjusted gross family income is required).
- Participate in extracurricular and volunteer work in the community.
- Show honesty and tenacity in the face of difficulty.
- A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 must be maintained.
