Monash University Scholarship 2024-2025 for international students:

The Monash Silver Jubilee Scholarship (MSJS) is available to help students cover living expenses while studying at Monash. It is granted to different faculties on a rotating basis each year. This outstanding fellowship is intended to help a PhD student cover living expenses while studying at Monash.

Financial Benefits:

The Monash University Scholarship provides the awardee with the following benefits:

Silver Jubilee Scholarship:

  • Annual living allowance is $39,820.
  • Relocation allowance is $550.
  • The annual research allowance is $1,500.

Research Training Program:

  • Annual living allowance is $33,000.
  • Relocation allowance is $1,500.

Graduate Scholarship:

  • Annual living expenses is $33,000.
  • Relocation expenses is $1,500.

  • Official academic transcripts, degree certificate, or testimonial from the granting institution (with an explanation of the grading system).

  • Proof of meeting the English language competency standards.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Have qualifications that GRC considers equal.
  • Scholarships are provided based on an applicant’s academic record, research output, and previous research experience.
  • Have not held an Australian Government or Monash-funded Postgraduate Research Award for longer than six months.
  • A course leading to a level rated by the relevant department, faculty and committee as equivalent to an honours 1 or 2A in a relevant field;
    A master’s degree that entails work, normally including a significant research component, including at least 25% of one full time equivalent year of work, including a thesis. It is normally expected that a grade of honours 2A has been obtained for the research thesis or project. Where ungraded, examiners’ reports will be taken into account;
  • Required language: English.
  • English Language Test criteria for General: (6.5) overall (no band less than 6.0) in IELTS and (79+) Reading 13, Listening 12, Speaking 18, and Writing 21 in TOEFL.
  • English Language Test requirements for Arts, Business, and Economics: (7) overall (no band less than 6.5) in IELTS, and (94+). TOEFL scores for reading, listening, speaking, and writing are 19, 20, and 24, respectively.
  • Eligible Countries: All international countries.
  • An international student.
  • A New Zealand citizen.
  • An Australian citizen.
  • Australian permanent resident.
  • I am an Australian humanitarian visa holder.
  • A bachelor’s degree that requires at least four years of full-time study in a relevant topic and typically includes a research component in the fourth year, leading to an honours 1 or 2A in a relevant discipline;
  • A course leading to a level rated by the relevant department, faculty, and committee as equivalent to an honours 1 or 2A in a relevant discipline.
