Eligibility Criteria:

The following requirements must be met in order to be considered for Enterprise Fellowships at the Royal Academy of Engineering:

  • English is the language that is required.
  • All nations across the world are eligible.
  • Generally speaking, we back:
    • Researchers hoping to launch a business outside of academia.
    • Fresh graduates looking to launch their own business.
    • International PhD candidates desiring to launch a spinout or business who are already residing in the UK.
  • Your eligibility meets our primary requirements if:
    • Your solution has a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of four or above.
    • Your company has received equity investment of less than 500,000 GBP.
    • IP that you or a co-owner owns is protectable due to your innovation.
    • You are the member of the founding team with the largest stock share in the business.
    • You currently hold the position of CEO or COO of the company, or you hope to.
    • For newcomers: you will not be enrolled in our programmes as a student or work during that time.
    • Additionally, for startups: by July 1, 2018, you had earned your first university degree.
    • For spinouts: you work for the university right now.
    • Your PhD viva, if applicable, will take place no later than November 30, 2024.

The application process has two stages:

Stage one
