Financial Benefits:

  • Fellows can apply for up to £1.87 million for an eight-year period as part of this fully supported fellowship.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • By the round’s closing date, you will have three to eight years of research experience (not including career breaks) since receiving your PhD; for further information on the assessment of career breaks, please see the scheme notes.
  • You do not work for a university or a non-profit research body in a permanent capacity (including a proleptic appointment).
  • You do not currently hold, nor have you ever held, a fellowship of a similar kind that would have allowed you to form your own independent research group and, thus, become an independent researcher.
  • Your study is under the purview of the Royal Society’s natural sciences division, which covers a wide range of fields such as biology, biomedical sciences, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, and physics.
