Herchel Smith Scholarships for Intellectual Property PhDs will pay for:
- Beginning in September 2024 and continuing through the end of the academic year, the recipient will receive recurring payments for all tuition fees, with an annual award of about £17,000 (subject to annual review).

Eligibility Criteria:
The following requirements must be met in order to be eligible for Intellectual Property PhD – Herchel Smith Scholarships:
- English is the language that is required. (Required tests: IELTS and others)
- All nations across the world are eligible.
- The prize is intended for first-time applicants who plan to register in September 2024, the start of the upcoming academic year.
- The applicant must be a PhD candidate in intellectual property law or be employed in a field that bridges intellectual property law with other disciplines in the humanities and sciences.
(IELTS: 7.0 overall, with a writing score of 7.0 and scores of 5.5 for reading, listening, and speaking)TOEFL: Also a total score of 100, with 27 points for writing, 18 for reading, 17 for listening, and 20 for speaking. Additional tests might be approved as well.
