The following advantages are given to the winner of an OCIS Scholarship:
- Full tuition plus a stipend to cover living expenses (at least £15,285).
Eligibility Criteria:
- English is the required language.
- Countries That Qualify: You have to be one of two things:
- A citizen of, and usually residing in, one of the following Asian or African nations; or a Muslim community member from the United Kingdom (priority being given to people from low-income households): Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Albania, Indonesia, Palestine, Algeria, Iran, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Senegal, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Sierra Leone, Benin Kuwait, Libya, Syrian Arab Republic, Chad, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Comoros, Maldives, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Tunisia, Djibouti, Mauritania, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Turkmenistan, Gabon, Mozambique, Uganda, Gambia, Niger, United Arab Emirates, Guinea, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Guyana, Oman, Yemen
- You have to be applying to begin a brand-new, full-time Oxford master’s or DPhil programme.
- You should plan to finish your course with the intention of returning to your home country.
- Academic merit will be the criterion used to award scholarships.
- It is desirable that you plan to pursue an education in an area that stems from the Islamic tradition, is relevant to the Muslim community, or both.
- Candidates applying for part-time, non-matriculated, or postgraduate certificate or diploma programmes are not eligible for this award.
- Candidates will not be eligible for this scholarship if they have deferred offers to begin in 2024–2025.
